Melted adhesive is accurately metered and delivered through a heated slot die onto the moving substrate.
Slot die coating is suitable for continuous, uniform adhesive layers and applications requiring controlled coating width and coat weight. It is commonly selected for adhesive tapes, labels, films and other roll materials.
The hot melt adhesive is distributed in a fine fiber pattern rather than as a completely closed layer.
This creates an open coating structure that can reduce adhesive consumption and retain greater softness or breathability. It is often used for nonwoven fabrics, medical materials, filter media, textiles and other flexible substrates.
For products requiring adhesive on both surfaces, the machine can be configured to complete double-sided coating within a continuous production process.
This reduces repeated material handling and is particularly suitable for double-sided adhesive tapes and multi-layer self-adhesive products.
The adhesive is applied to one substrate before a second material is introduced through the laminating section.
Controlled pressure and web tension help join the materials into a stable composite structure. This process is suitable for fabric-to-film, nonwoven-to-film, foam-to-fabric and other multi-material laminates.
A complete hot melt coating and laminating line can include several coordinated processing modules:
Unwinding: Feeds one or more substrate rolls into the line.
Web guiding: Corrects material position to maintain accurate edge alignment.
Tension control: Stabilizes the web during acceleration, coating and rewinding.
Preheating: Prepares selected substrates before adhesive application when required.
Adhesive melting and metering: Melts and delivers hot melt adhesive at a controlled temperature and flow rate.
Coating section: Applies the adhesive by slot die, spray or another selected process.
Laminating section: Combines the coated substrate with a second material under controlled pressure.

Because different adhesives and substrates behave differently under heat, tension and pressure, material testing is recommended before the final machine configuration is confirmed.

Jiayuan does not recommend a machine solely according to coating width or production speed. The complete process should be evaluated before the production line is designed.

A modular machine structure allows individual processing sections to be selected or upgraded according to changing production requirements.
A production line may begin with a basic coating and rewinding configuration and later add a second unwind station, laminating unit, spray system, accumulator, automatic turret rewinder or inline slitting module.
